I guess "Happy New Year" kind of applies :) Thank you for visiting our blog. This is going to be a great year. We have a few upcoming events that you might be interested in.
Kandalore
Information packages will be going home on Wednesday of this week. Paperwork* and payment will need to be in by Wednesday, September 14th.
We will be leaving on the morning of Monday, September 19th and we will be returning on Wednesday, September 21st. The times will be shared with you closer to the date.
There will be a Kandalore Information night on Monday, September 12th at approximately 6:30. If you have any questions, please plan to attend, as we are expecting the Camp Kandalore coordinator to be in attendance.
* If your child takes any type of medication (regularly or otherwise - this includes everything from prescription drugs to inhalers to Advil to vitamins), we must have the appropriate medication paperwork signed by a physician (walk-in clinic signatures are fine). I would recommend that if you intend for your child to attend our Grad trip in June, you make the form valid from September 2011 to June 2012, to avoid having to get a second form filled out and signed.
Classroom Reorganization
There is a likelihood of school-wide classroom restructuring by the second or third week of school. This means that, depending on enrollment, some students may be moved out of their current classroom and into another Grade 8 class. Intermediate teachers will be ensuring that students are in the same place academically so that movement between classrooms has minimal impact on learning.
Meet-the-Teacher Night
It's coming! At the moment, I'm not sure of the date, but once that information is made available and confirmed, I'll be sure to post on here. (I once invited a parent to "Meet-the-Creature" night by accident on an answering machine - took me all year to live that one down!)
