We had a great day today :) We gathered our Grade 1-8 classes in the gym and had a great 2011-2012 kick off assembly. "The Power of One" is our school theme for the first term, and Mrs. Leggatt and Mrs. Swaile-Black provided students and staff with some excellent presentations to introduce this idea. We also were able to sing our Fieldcrest song (the one that we made with Bobby Boogaloo last year). At the end of the day, Mr Philps and two of our Grade 8 students gave us some information on the upcoming Terry Fox event at our school. Fieldcrest will be participating in the Terry Fox run on Wednesday, September 28th. To raise money, we are asking students to bring in one of each coin (pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, loonies, toonies) to raise funds to support cancer research.
Remember to come to our Kandalore Information night on Monday, September 12th at 6:30pm in our library. There will be a representative from Kandalore in attendance, and we will be able to address any questions or concerns that you might have about the camp. Hope to see you there!
