Hello there!
We've had a very busy November, and it looks like December is going to be pretty busy, too. Please make sure to be checking our Calendar at the side to see what upcoming events are happening around the school and the classroom.
A few things to let you know about:
Moving Arts was a huge success! We have one more class booked for next Thursday, and then we're finished. Every student in our class and Mr Bax's class participated, making the Grade 8 classes some of the few who had full enrollment for the program. We would like to thank Mike (the instructor) for doing a great job.
At the moment, Grade 8 students are completing a Geography project and a History project. For information on the History project, ask your child to show you their Bitstrips comic about Confederation - I've been having a blast reading them!
We have started a new unit in Math that focuses on finding the circumference and area of circles. There is a quiz on Monday and likely another test halfway through the following week (on or around December 14th).
We begin Drama on Monday and will be starting to brainstorm contributions to the Variety Shows that the Grade 8s will be putting on for the school on December 22nd and 23rd in the mornings during our annual Caroling assemblies. We're very excited to have this opportunity to showcase leadership and creativity in a positive light with the rest of the students at Fieldcrest!
Hope everyone is enjoying the snow - with any luck, we'll be able to enjoy it, but not be buried up to our eyeballs in it. Happy December :)
